Repair only keeps black-and-white photos monochrome. Repair and colorize also attempts to add natural-looking color to black-and-white photos; it does not recolor an already color photo. Added colors are an interpretation, not a record of the original colors.

Conservative repair focuses on clear damage and limits changes to ambiguous details, texture and contrast. Both prioritize natural faces, and neither can guarantee exact recovery of missing detail.

Upload a static JPG, PNG or WebP up to 20 MB. The long edge must be at most 2560 pixels and the short edge at most 1440 pixels, with an aspect ratio between 1:3 and 3:1. Resize larger scans before uploading; this tool uses a fixed 2K output and does not reduce the source dimensions.

Every restoration uses the fixed 1440p / 2K preset at 20 credits per image. The photo fits within 2560 × 1440 pixels, or 1440 × 2560 for portraits, without cropping or stretching. A square photo becomes 1440 × 1440; a 4:3 photo becomes 1920 × 1440.

No AI restoration can guarantee exact recovery of missing information. The tool asks the model to preserve identity, expression, composition, and photographic character, but it may reconstruct details. Compare carefully and keep the original.

Download a new opaque PNG. The original aspect ratio is preserved, and the result cannot be smaller than the input. Transparency is not preserved.
